Product Description Back to Basics Magnetic Lid Lifter keeps your fingers safe from boiling water by safely lifting canning lids using a magnet at the end of the shaft. It also keeps lids more sterile than by handling with hands, towels, or even pot holders. 174LIDLIFTER

lid lifter November 23, 2009 Ellen Jones (arizona) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
this is a great concept but the magnet is too weak to lift the lid out of the water, a fork works much better. I wasted the money I spent on this product!
A canning must have! November 10, 2009 J. Harris (Atlanta, GA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
For anyone who cans, this is a valuable, inexpensive gadget to have. It will keep your fingers from getting burned and will help keep your lids sterile.
It was cheap and I got what I paid for September 19, 2009 Kristofer Iverson (Seattle, WA USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Magnet is weak and the product is cheap. I can barely get a hot lid out of the water bath. 1/2 the time the lid falls back into the pan. I was expecting a magnet that could lift the lid from the center and instead the lid dangles from an edge. I could probably make something better myself from arts & craft supplies. Maybe that's what they mean by 'Back to Basics'...
Useful... would be moreso if the magnet were stronger September 14, 2009 S. Sacks 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This lid lifter definitely comes in handy when heating lids to can... I only wish the magnet were stronger. It usually grabs onto the edge of the lid, but occasionally the lid slips off back into the water. Definitely a good bargain though.
Couldn't Find in Small Town USA September 13, 2009 JP (Seattle) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I live in a small town and couldn't find one of these magnetic lid lifters; I'd even tried to make my own but couldn't find a safe glue that held up to hot water! So I was happy to find this one and have been pleased with this simple little tool.
